• promote the technological development of the Pulp, Paper and Pulp industry, its production and converting, in order to improve its performances, its productivity, its competitiveness in the due respect of the sustainable development requirements;
• to advance scientific and technological knowledge, innovate and transfer to the industry know-how about virgin and recycled raw materials, processes, products and associated services in order to meet better the needs and expectations of markets, namely in terms of suitability of usages, of quality, sustainability, of safety, of health, environment, of energy and cost.
Generating value in the papermaking industry… that is the today's role of the CTP's highly qualified collaborators, engineers, scientists and technicians, expert in industrial research and technological transfers, that enables to give adapted responses to each need and to reinforce the sustainable competitiveness of the enterprises requiring its services. The CTP General Research Programme (GRP) is organised into several large avenues or thematic programmes: Virgin Pulps (InTechFibres); Recycled Fibres; Quality of Products; Sustainable Development (Environment). The CTP's research aims to generate value for its customers through technological innovation. It is led according to the rules of the by-project- management and relies upon monitoring and optimisation of the portfolio of activities.
Techpap SAS, the CTP subsidiary, itself parent company of its American subsidiary Techpap.Inc, whom, both of them market lab or online sensors (from CTP's research mainly, but also from Grenoble INP – Pagora) dedicated to the world papermaking industry.

Grenoble INP-Pagora, the International School of Paper, print media and biomaterials, a school belonging to the Grenoble-INP Group, the largest European training centre for engineers specialising in these sectors. ISO 9001Certified, Pagora trains the future executives of the sectors linked to paper, printing, packaging and to the environment. Its large range of training – comprising the engineer fundamental disciplines and the specific courses corresponding to the area chosen– permanently adapts to the industries needs. The School proposes also a professional degree licence regarding the digital flow management. Pagora forms successfully a part of the engineering students and the vocational degree students in the framework of the apprenticeship programme. The school develops also an international training in collaboration with the European universities. A strong partnership with the industries enables 60 / year students who passed their exams to have access to motivating carriers in France and internationally. The innovative research led by its laboratory (LGP2) improves processes and creation of products meeting new needs, notably environmental ones. An active monitoring on technological advances of these industries is performed by the Cerig cell.
All these activities guarantee a high-tech education.
The LGP2 in brief
The Laboratoire Génie des Procédés Papetiers (LGP2) is a mix research unit (UMR 5518) associating the CNRS, Pagora, Grenoble INP and the Centre Technique du Papier.
It comprises 5 research teams: Process chemistry – Paper Chemistry and Environment – Fibre structures physics – Science and graphic techniques – Converting-Biomaterials-Packaging.
